The attached video shows both the CSX train hitting Essex resident John J. Alban Jr's Mack Granite, waste disposal truck. The train narrowly misses careening into the cab. Alban was declared in serious but stable condition at the time of the accident. The roll-off configuration at the back of the truck however, took the brunt of the 49 mph freight train's force.
At the 5:32 mark, a flash can be seen in the sky. The force from the explosion knocks down the surveillance camera and caused "substantial damage" to the Eastern Truck and Trailer building, according to an answering machine message from owner Michael Tobias Sr.
