I-695 Crash, Harford Road Closure Snarl Traffic Friday
A tree fell on wires on Harford Road Friday morning, prompting a road closure, officials said, while a crash slowed I-695 near Belair Road.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A section of Harford Road was closed Friday morning, officials say.
MD 147/Harford Road was shut down in both directions at Factory Road.
A tree fell on wires in the area, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) reported before 9 a.m.

More than 20 people were without power off Harford Road nearby, according to BGE outage map, which showed an estimated restoration time of 10 a.m.
Before 3 p.m., transportation officials said the road had reopened.

On the beltway, another incident was reported.
A vehicle crashed on Interstate 695 on the outer loop near Belair Road after 9 a.m.
As a result of that incident, the right lane and right shoulder were closed to northbound traffic before 9:30 a.m.
State transportation officials cautioned people to be careful due to slick roads Friday.
"Weather-related car crashes account for nearly 6,000 fatalities and 445,000 injuries each year," according to the SHA. "Buckle up and take it slow today especially around curves and when you are turning."
