What’s New at the Town Fair?
Find out what chairperson Lynn Richardson has in store for the July 13 community festival.
Organizing for the Town Fair is still underway, although chairperson Lynn Richardson has confirmed a few new exciting additions to the annual festival.
“We’re adding pony rides and a professional stunt bike show,” Richardson said. “It’s pretty awesome. This guy is a national act.”
In an attempt to win over older kids, Richardson said the fair will this year include a rock climbing wall, as well.

“That’s something we’ve been trying to accomplish for a few years,” Richardson said. “We have a lot of the little kids, but we wanted something for the medium kids as well.”
Adding to the ambiance will be two additional bands, rounding out this year’s lineup to seven in all—up two from last year.

“They tour nationally and we got a very sweet deal for that,” Richardson said. And let’s not forget—there will be beer.
Returning to the fair this year, the large children’s play area with slides, moon bounces and clowns.
“The kids’ area is the big certain-piece. ... That’s what keeps the kids coming back,” Richardson said.
As of Tuesday, the fair was 50 percent booked with retail vendors. There may be a select fewer clothing and jewelry retailers, “in the interest of business,” Richardson said.
While there will be plenty of on-site parking available, Richardson said she has also booked shuttle busses and plans to mark off a handicap parking section.
With 75 volunteers in tow and 52 days to showtime, Richardson jokingly said she was most looking forward to July 14—the day after the Town Fair.
But truthfully, she said, “I look forward to having all of the families and people who come to enjoy themselves, enjoying themselves, having the opportunity to see businesses in the area.
“It’s about bringing business and community together. That’s what happens. And it makes me happy,” she continued.
The Town Fair will again be located at 705 Concourse Circle in the Crossroads Village Center in Middle River.
“Like I said last year, the benefit of the fair comes right back to the Perry Hall/White Marsh area... That is the whole point. It’s not about where we are, but what we do,” Richardson said.
