Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Baltimore County
Baltimore County is under a winter weather advisory for snow on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of Maryland, including Baltimore County. A winter weather advisory means snow will cause travel difficulties, covering roads and reducing visibility.
The advisory calls for a wintry mix of light rain and snow Tuesday morning turning to all snow in the afternoon.
With the precipitation moving from northwest to southeast, timing for the storm is different in parts of Baltimore County on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

- Northern Baltimore County is under a winter weather advisory from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; about 1 to 2 inches of snow are expected, with 3 inches possible in some areas north of Baltimore. (This is a change from the previous advisory period of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and forecast of 2 to 4 inches.)
- Southern Baltimore County is under a winter weather advisory from noon to 10 p.m.; about 1 inch of snow is expected, a downgrade from the 1 to 3 inches of snow previously forecast.

Wind chills are expected to stay below zero from Tuesday night through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

With nighttime temps dropping below freezing, any moisture or slush will freeze on untreated surfaces, according to the advisory. Drivers should use caution.
State highway officials say that crews will be aggressively patrolling for icy spots.
Drivers should keep in mind that elevated areas like bridges, ramps and overpasses freeze first.
