Woman Assaulted After Suspect Snatches Her Dog, Demands Cash: Baltimore County Police

The suspect hit a woman in the head and fled when she had no money to give in Parkville incident, according to Baltimore County Police.

PARKVILLE, MD — A woman was found unconscious, suffering from a head wound when police responded to a report of an attempted robbery in Parkville on Monday.

Just after 7:30 p.m., Baltimore County police responded to Hiss Avenue and Fowler Avenue for a report of an attempted robbery. A 26-year-old woman was found lying in the grass at Parkville Community Gardens near Double Rock Park suffering from a head wound. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

According to a statement, police officers' investigation into the incident has indicated that the woman was walking her dog when the suspect appeared from behind some bamboo and began to pet her dog. The suspect then grabbed the dog and asked for money.

When the woman offered the suspect her cell phone in exchange for the dog, he stated that he wanted money. The suspect then struck the woman on the head with an unknown object, and fled without taking anything from her.

On Wednesday, police said the woman was released from the hospital.
