Elkton, MD- Since April 7, 2021, there have been 163 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cecil County and 1 COVID-19-related death in Cecil County.

Since March, 2020, as reported by the Cecil County Health Department, there have been 5,725 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cecil County, and 5,014 of those confirmed cases have been released from isolation. There have been 128 COVID-19-related deaths in Cecil County. Cecil County’s seven-day positivity rate is 7.5%.
COVID-19 continues to be a community-spread pandemic. Please remain vigilant and safe in your day-to-day activities, wear a mask in public places, practice social distancing, wash your hands often, and sanitize frequently touched surfaces. Â

Cecil County Health Department
The Cecil County Health Department will hold free drive-thru COVID-19 testing events for the public on:
- Mondays in April, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., 401 Bow Street, Elkton, MD.
- Wednesdays in April, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., 401 Bow Street, Elkton MD.
Appointments are required. Please call 410-996-1005 or go to the online scheduler to make an appointment:Â
Please bring ID. You do not need a doctor’s note or symptoms to get tested.

COVID-19 Vaccine
All Marylanders 16 and older are now eligible to schedule appointments and get vaccinated. The Cecil County Health Department has created Vaccine Interest Forms for individuals interested in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Once you complete your interest form, please allow a week to receive information on how to register for upcoming vaccination clinics. A separate interest form must be completed for each eligible individual.

Governor Hogan has announced the establishment of a mass vaccination site at Ripken Stadium on the week of April 19. To preregister for a vaccine at a mass vaccination site, visit: https://onestop.md.gov/preregistration. Please note, this preregistration is separate from the Cecil County Health Department’s preregistration.

- 2nd dose = 18,696 (18.17% of population)
- Single dose = 1,738 (1.69% of population)

Cecil County Government
Cecil County Government (CCG) remains committed to protecting the health and welfare of its employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining essential, core services to the constituents of Cecil County. To safely and incrementally move County operations forward, CCG will reopen County work sites to the public, by appointment only, for essential County business. Therefore, the following protocol is effective beginning June 8, 2020, until further notice:
- Public access to County work sites is limited to appointment only, with as much business as possible being conducted electronically or by telephone.
To maximize social distancing, employees in telework-eligible positions are to continue to work remotely as much as possible. Employees in non-telework eligible positions will report to the work site. All employees at work sites are to follow health and safety protocols for COVID-19.
The vestibule at the Administration Building remains open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to allow for drop-off and pick-ups for Permits, Finance, Housing, Purchasing, Land Use, and Public Works. Please make sure your documents are clearly marked with name/organization and contact information.
- All Cecil County Solid Waste Management Division facilities are open for normal operations. This includes the Central Landfill, Woodlawn, and Stemmers Run Transfer Stations.
