Elkton, MD- Since March 24, 2021, there have been 97 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cecil County and 2 COVID-19-related deaths in Cecil County. Additionally, there have been 124 cases released from isolation.

Since March, 2020, as reported by the Cecil County Health Department, there have been 5,424 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cecil County, and 4,930 of those confirmed cases have been released from isolation. There have been 127 COVID-19-related deaths in Cecil County. Cecil County’s seven-day positivity rate is 4.5%.

COVID-19 continues to be a community-spread pandemic. Please remain vigilant and safe in your day-to-day activities, wear a mask in public places, practice social distancing, wash your hands often, and sanitize frequently touched surfaces.

Cecil County Health Department

The Cecil County Health Department will hold free drive-thru COVID-19 testing events for the public on:

  • Mondays in April, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., 401 Bow Street, Elkton, MD.
  • Wednesdays in April, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., 401 Bow Street, Elkton MD.

Appointments are required. Please call 410-996-1005 or go to the online scheduler to make an appointment: https://covidtesting.pattrac.app/cecil.

Please bring ID. You do not need a doctor’s note or symptoms to get tested.

COVID-19 Vaccine

Cecil County is now in Phase 2B of vaccination which adds the following eligible priority groups:

  • Individuals ages 16+ with underlying medical conditions that increase the risk for severe COVID-19 illness.
  • Individuals ages 16+ with disabilities who are receiving SSI or SSDI benefits.
  • Individuals participating in Maryland Medicaid EID.

PHASE 2C begins April 13:

Once you complete your interest form, please allow up to four weeks from the date you become eligible to receive information on how to register for upcoming vaccination clinics due to the limited supply of vaccine. A separate interest form must be completed for each eligible individual. To complete the interest form, follow the link below:

The Cecil County Health Department is not accepting interest form submissions for Phase 3 at this time. Watch their social media and website for updates. 

Cecil County’s COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution as of 3/31/2021:

• 1st dose = 22,860 (22.22% of population)

• 2nd dose = 12,491 (12.14% of population)

Maryland Insurance Administration: Maryland Insurance Commissioner Kathleen A. Birrane reminds Marylanders that they cannot be billed for COVID-19 vaccinations regardless of which vaccine they receive.     • Food Referrals:  due to the coronavirus, public access to the building is restricted; however you may still receive a referral for food by calling Nicole at 443-986-3548, from 8:am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.  Emergency food referrals will be available for pick up at the Help Center from 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Cecil County Government (CCG) remains committed to protecting the health and welfare of its employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining essential, core services to the constituents of Cecil County. To safely and incrementally move County operations forward, CCG will reopen County work sites to the public, by appointment only, for essential County business. Therefore, the following protocol is effective beginning June 8, 2020, until further notice:

  • Public access to County work sites is limited to appointment only, with as much business as possible being conducted electronically or by telephone.
  • All Cecil County Solid Waste Management Division facilities are open for normal operations. This includes the Central Landfill, Woodlawn, and Stemmers Run Transfer Stations.
