Cecil County Woman, 21, Has Been Found
Police said Stacy Michele Rahaka Mahiga was located Monday afternoon following an investigation.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — Police said that a woman who was reported missing from Elkton has been found. The 21-year-old had not been seen since Sunday afternoon.
Investigators said they found Stacy Michele Rahaka Mahiga Monday afternoon.
"Thanks to a tip from the public and coordination from allied agencies in Delaware, [she] was found safe about at about 2 p.m. in the Newark, Delaware, area," police said in a statement on Monday, Jan. 21.

The Maryland State Police thanked all who assisted, including Newark County Fire and EMS, the University of Delaware Police Department, Newark Police, Mason-Dixon Search and Rescue and Chesapeake Search and Rescue.
Mahiga is receiving medical attention at a local hospital, officials reported.

PREVIOUS REPORT — Authorities are asking for help finding a Cecil County woman. She disappeared Sunday afternoon, according to police.
Stacy Michele Rahaka Mahiga, 21, was last seen at her home in the 3000 block of Stone Gate Court in Elkton, officials said.
According to police, her boyfriend saw her last at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, when he left their shared residence.
When he came home, Mahiga was missing, while items she normally would have taken with her remained at their residence, police reported.
She is described as 5-feet-3-inches tall and 123 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black Michael Kors puffy jacket and black sneakers, police said.
As of Monday morning, officials said a Maryland State Police helicopter and K-9 officers have conducted searches, and officers around the region are on the lookout for Mahiga.
Troopers from the North East Barrack are handling the investigation and are trying to check on Mahiga's well-being. She was classified as a critically missing person by police, who told Patch that information about why that designation was given was not being provided.
