Idlewheel in Concert at Deer Creek Coffeehouse

Location: 1022 Main St., Darlington. Date: Saturday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. Suggested Donation: $10-Adults, $5-Youth.

Deer Creek alum and fan favorite Craig Bickhardt has joined with singer-songwriter Jack Sundrud to form Idlewheel. Bickhardt has penned songs for Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Martina McBride and B.B. King, and wrote the closing theme for Robert Duval's Academy Award winning film, "Tender Mercies". Sundrud cracked the charts with the group, Great Plains (Sony Records) and now plays bass in the pioneering country-rock group Poco. His songs have been recorded by Kenny Rogers, The Judds, The Persuasions and others. Together Bickhardt and Sundrud wrote Ty Herndon's mega hit, "It Must Be Love". Idlewheel's sound conjures up memories of the feisty, unfettered spirit of Southern California country-rock, with a dash of the Everly Brothers thrown in. (www.idlewheel.com)

This show has been assisted by grants through the Harford County Cultural Arts Board.
