Main Street Closed in Port Deposit for House Fire
Firefighters from Water Witch and surrounding companies converged on North Main Street to battle a building fire Friday night.
PORT DEPOSIT, MD — A house was engulfed in flames Friday night on North Main Street, according to the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company.
Main Street/MD 222 was closed at Center Street in Port Deposit due to off-road activity, state transportation officials reported after 7:30 p.m.
Multiple fire companies responded to the blaze. The Susquehanna Hose Company provided mutual aid, and the Community Fire Company of Perryville reported that its Santa Walk for Chesapeake Landing was being rescheduled due to the fire activity.
