One Dead, One Injured In Crash On Route 222: Police
Police said that one person died in the two-vehicle crash on Route 222 near Interstate 95 Friday night in Cecil County.

PERRYVILLE, MD — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on MD 222 near Interstate 95 near Perryville Friday evening, according to Maryland State Police. Both were taken to area hospitals after the collision in Cecil County, officials reported.
The crash happened at approximately 5:26 p.m. Friday on southbound Route 222 at the ramp to I-95 north.
Mary Frazier, 63, of Nelsonville, Ohio, was taken to Harford Memorial Hospital, where police said she succumbed to her injuries, according to officials. She had been driving a gray 2010 Honda CRV that was stopped in the left turn lane on Route 222 south, police reported.

Jeffrey Hoffman, 56, of Havre de Grace, had been driving south on Route 222 when his white 2018 Chevrolet Silverado hit the back of Frazier's vehicle, police said based on preliminary investigation.
Hoffman was taken to Christiana Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

Route 222 was reportedly closed at I-95 until 7:30 p.m.
