Perryville Blaze Caused $30K in Damage: Fire Marshal

The fire marshal is still investigating the cause of Tuesday's house fire on Jackson Station Road.

PERRYVILLE, MD — A house fire that broke out in Perryville Tuesday afternoon remains under investigation Wednesday morning, officials said.

A passerby reported the blaze in the 600 block of Jackson Station Road at 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire started in the exterior front part of the home, the fire marshal reported. It took 35 firefighters approximately 10 minutes to bring the blaze under control at the rancher-style home. Crews from the Community Fire Company of Perryville, Water Witch Fire Company and the Susquehanna Hose Company reportedly responded.

A cause was undetermined as of Wednesday morning, and the case remained under investigation.

The fire marshal said there was $30,000 in damage — there was $25,000 in structural damage, and contents worth $5,000 were lost. Nobody was injured, the fire marshal said.
