Body Found In Port Deposit: Report
A death investigation led to the closure of Route 222 Thursday for several hours.

PORT DEPOSIT, MD — A body was reportedly found in Port Deposit on Thursday. During the investigation, MD 222 was closed for several hours due to police activity in the area.
The identity of the deceased was not released.
After the body was discovered by the side of the road, it was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, WBAL reported, noting officials said Friday more details would be available.

Route 222 was completely shut down at Canal Road after 4 p.m. because of the police activity. The closure spanned the portion of Route 222 between Granite Avenue and Moore Road.
The road had reopened by 8:40 p.m., according to the Cecil County Sheriff's Office.
