Vehicle Tips Near Conowingo Dam

CECIL COUNTY, MD — A crash near the Conowingo Dam has snarled traffic Tuesday afternoon for more than two hours on US 1.

The single-vehicle collision occurred after 1:30 p.m. on Route 1 prior to Susquehanna River Road, transportation officials said. The State Highway Administration reported that Route 1 was closed as a result.

Traffic cameras showed southbound traffic getting by the crash, with congestion present in the area, and northbound traffic being detoured.

By 4 p.m., the State Highway Administration reported the crash had cleared.
