Woman Dies Mysteriously On Boat In Cecil County: Police

Investigators have classified the death as 'suspicious' after a woman was found unresponsive aboard her docked boat in Cecil County.

CHARLESTOWN, MD — Authorities say are investigating the death of a woman found unresponsive Wednesday morning in the cabin of her boat.

Before 3 a.m. on Wednesday, troopers from the North East barrack received a call from a man at Charlestown Marina who said he heard thrashing noises coming from a docked boat.

According to police, the man told officials he boarded the boat and found a woman unresponsive.

Medical personnel pronounced the woman, who has not yet been identified, deceased at the scene. Police said she was lying in the cabin of her boat at the time.

"No cause of death was immediately obvious to investigators," Maryland State Police said in a statement, which classified the case as a "suspicious death."

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the death, police reported, and investigators believe an autopsy from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will offer more information about the circumstances.
