Eric Brown, M.D. Named NKFMDDE Medical Advisory Board Chair

Award-winning nephrologist brings 12 years of experience to the nonprofit

LUTHERVILLE, Md. (Apr. 6 2020) −The National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware (NKFMDDE) has appointed Eric Brown, M.D. chair of its medical advisory board.

"My goals as the incoming chair are to expand community clinical outreach programs, increase efforts at provider and patient education, better sponsor research grant funding, and to provide support for underserved populations with kidney disease," said Dr. Brown, who joined NKFMDDE's medical advisory board two years ago.

Bringing 12 years industry experience, Dr. Brown currently serves as a clinical nephrologist with Mid-Atlantic Nephrology Associates in Owings Mills, as well as the medical director for LifeBridge Health Acute Dialysis, Renalis Dialysis at Futurecare Courtland and DaVita Greenspring Dialysis.

Baltimore Magazine named him among "Baltimore's Best Physicians" for three straight years (2017 to 2019), and he previously received the Best Teaching Fellow Award from University of Maryland Medical System. He earned both his bachelor's and medical degrees from Northwestern University.

"As our Foundation continues to be a big influence in the kidney community, we look forward to having Dr. Brown lead us in our growth," said Pattie Dash, executive director. "It is exciting to see the impact his leadership will have for those impacted by kidney disease, as well as the continued education and outreach in our community."
