Jewish Deli Opens On Hooks Lane
The Essen Room is now open in Pikesville, according to the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce.

PIKESVILLE, MD — A new deli has opened in Pikesville. The New York-style deli called "The Essen Room" sells specialty sandwiches like corned beef and pastrami, among others.
It is located where Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. used to be in the Hooks Village shopping center.
The Pikesville Chamber of Commerce announced that The Essen Room had opened as of Nov. 14.

The 3,000-square-foot eatery is operated by Neil Parish, a 53-year-old Randallstown native who also runs a restaurant called The Kibitz Room that he opened nearly two decades ago in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, according to the Jewish Times.
The Essen Room (essen means "to eat") is his second restaurant, and one he felt was needed around his hometown.
