What's Open, Closed in Baltimore County on Christmas 2014?

Christmas is nearly here, and to observe the holiday, Baltimore County government offices will be closed.

Baltimore county district and circuit courts will be closed on Christmas Day and Friday, Dec. 26. All branches of the Baltimore County Public Library will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Health Department clinics, senior centers and the county animal shelter will also be closed on Christmas Day, and CountyRide vans will not operate.

But on the bright side, there will be no charge for metered parking in the county.

Residents whose trash is normally collected on Thursday, Dec. 25, should set it out Thursday night to be collected on Friday, Dec. 26. Residents whose single stream recycling collection would normally take place on Dec. 25 should hold onto recyclables until the next scheduled day for pickup, Thursday, Jan. 8, or take them to one of the county’s drop-off centers.

Collection may occur later than usual during the last week of December and first week of January due to extra trash and fewer collection days. If your trash has not been collected on the scheduled day, leave the material out until it is collected.

All trash and recycling drop-off facilities, including the Eastern Sanitary Landfill, will be closed on Christmas Day, but run normal hours on Christmas Eve.
