'Creed' Brings Stallone, a Former MoCo Resident, Oscar Nod
Sylvester Stallone -- who grew up in Potomac and Silver Spring -- garnered another Oscar on Thursday.
COLLEGE PARK - Sylvester Stallone was nominated Thursday for an Academy Award for best supporting actor for his role in Creed, 39 years after his first and only Oscar nominations for writing and starring in Rocky in 1977. Among male actors with more than one nomination for best actor or best supporting actor, no one has waited longer than Stallone -- who grew up in Potomac and Silver Spring, according to the Washington Post -- for another crack at an Oscar.
