The Washington Redskins has picked Potomac's own Dwayne Haskins in the 2019 NFL Draft.

POTOMAC, MD — Potomac's own Dwayne Haskins will suit up with the Washington Redskins next season.
With the 15th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, the Redskins selected the former Ohio State quarterback as its first pick. He will be the fourth signal-caller on the roster and joins newly signed Josh Woodrum and veterans Colt McCoy and Case Keenum, according to the Redskins.
A day after the decision was announced, Haskins took to Twitter to express his excitement.

"His 4,831 passing yards and 50 touchdowns were not only Ohio State single-season records but also Big Ten records," the Redskins said in a statement.
In 2018, Haskins was also named one of three finalists for the 84th Heisman Trophy, the most prestigious award a college football player can get.
Finalists are picked based on the percentage of votes they get from 929 voters, usually sports journalists and past winners.
Haskins finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Oklahoma's Kyler Murray and Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa.
