How Potomac Holistics Helps Its Patients Safely Manage Pain

Bill Askinazi, owner of Maryland's first medical cannabis dispensary, explains how his facility helps patients manage pain without opiates.

People in pain need safe relief. Opiates are not the answer. At Potomac Holistics we provide medicinal cannabis in the form of flower, oils, creams, vapes and tinctures to qualified registered patients. Our dispensary is housed in a calm, private medical suite staffed by professional and licensed agents. We offer discounts to veterans, seniors and first-time patients as well as free consults on which medicines work best for you.

We opened our doors on December 1, 2017 and have been featured nationally on ABC News, The Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. I studied the medicinal qualities of cannabis for years having been intrigued by its use by different cultures for more than 5,000 years. I studied the law and regulations and aimed to open an accessible and hospitable holistic center in Rockville to serve all who seek pain relief therapy without opiates.

Our facility offers patients a reflective space of natural wood, plants and water with easy music. We have handicapped ramps and an elevator and free parking outside our door. We are a “Mom and Pop” establishment dispensing personal touches to each of our patrons. Not financed by big corporate funders, we are local for local folks.

We often host educational brown bags with offerings of cooking classes, massage and raiku sessions. We assist in getting qualified folks registered.

Our motto is, “Be a Friend, Bring a Friend,” as we learn with you. The best lesson I have received in business is, "the good morning you give is the good morning you receive," and that honesty is really the best policy. Come see us!
