Man Drowned In Potomac River Near Scott's Run: Montgomery Police
A Virginia man's body was found on the MD shoreline of the Potomac River last week. He went underwater while swimming and never resurfaced.

POTOMAC, MD — Montgomery County Police are investigating the drowning of a 26-year-old man in the Potomac River.
Franky Smith Gonzales Sapaico — who was from Springfield, Virginia — was swimming near Scott's Run on May 31 when he went underwater and didn't resurface, a police news release says. Police were dispatched, but his body was not found. They continued the search until June 3.
County Police and the Montgomery Fire Department responded to calls when Sapaico's family members found his body in the river around 5 p.m. on June 4.

Sapaico's body was found about half a mile down the river from Scott's Run, where police believe he entered the water, according to a post by Pete Piringer, the Fire Department's public information officer, on Twitter.
He was found on the Maryland side near the shoreline, just past the American Legion Bridge, Piringer tweeted.
