Rep.-Elect David Trone Announces Senior Staff Hires

POTOMAC, MD — Rep.-elect David Trone announced his senior staff hires as he prepares to take office on Thursday.

Trone, a millionaire businessman from Potomac, picked Andy Flick as chief of staff, Christina Tsafoulias as legislative director, Sonny Holding as district director, Jeri Sparling as operations director, and Hannah Muldavin as communications director. Trone's staff will serve in their respective roles once he is sworn in on Jan. 3.

"Our senior leadership is comprised of individuals who have experience both in the District and on Capitol Hill, and I'm confident that together we will be able to get things done for the people of the 6th District of Maryland," said Trone, D-Md. "I'm also grateful to have some of former Representative John Delaney's staff on board our team to ensure constituents continue to receive top notch constituent services."

Trone easily won his race to succeed Rep. John Delaney in the U.S. House of Representatives in November of 2018. The wine magnate and Potomac resident defeated Republican Amie Hoeber, a former Reagan administration official.

Here's more information about each senior staff member, according to a press release:

Andy Flick – Chief of Staff
Andy has served in the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly a decade. He began his career as a legislative aide for Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) and most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Political Director for Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA). A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Andy now lives in Washington with his partner David Ochsman, who hails from Maryland's Sixth District.

Christina Tsafoulias – Legislative Director
Christina is a Massachusetts native who holds a B.A. from Brown University and an M.A. from The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs. She previously spent over 7 years on Capitol Hill working for Congressman Mike Capuano (D-MA) before moving to Germany for a fellowship with the Robert Bosch Foundation. Since 2014, she has served as the Advisor for Congressional Affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland.

Sonny Holding – District Director
Sonny is a Maryland native who grew up in Bowie in Prince George's County. He served the constituents of Maryland's 6th Congressional District for five and a half years under Congressman John K. Delaney (D-MD), first as a Field Representative and later as District Director for Western Maryland. He previously worked on Congressman Delaney's 2012 primary and general election campaigns as well as a campaign in Pennsylvania in 2010. Sonny and his wife of nearly ten years have two small children.

Jeri Sparling – Operations Director
Jeri got her start on Capitol Hill working for Chairman James L. Oberstar (D-MN). Jeri has a wealth of experience from working on Capitol Hill for 20 years. When not working, you can find Jeri traveling or spending time with family and friends.

Hannah Muldavin – Communications Director
Hannah graduated from Georgetown University and worked in the private sector as a consultant before working in politics. Most recently she served as the Deputy Communications Director for the David Trone for Congress campaign.
