Arrest in Stabbing Outside Restaurant, Says Law Enforcement

Suspect had been sought for more than a month in the case, according to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A suspect is now in custody linked to a stabbing outside of a Riverdale Park restaurant more than a month ago, according to Prince George's Sheriff's Office.

Antonio Gaitan, of Mount Rainer, is charged with attempted first degree murder and related charges in the April 2 incident.

Gaitan allegedly approached the victim outside of a restaurant in the 5000 block Riverdale Road. He allegedly pulled out an edged weapon and stabbed the victim in the neck before fleeing the scene.

The warrant states that Gaitan did not know the victim but a witness – the victim’s cousin – told police that Gaitan had been staring at the victim while they were in the restaurant.

Deputies located Gaitan in a home in the 4000 block of 36th Street, Mount Rainer.

He also faces charges of attempted second degree murder, first and second degree assault and dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
