Police To Canvass Riverdale, Seeking Information On Murder Victim

Detectives are planning to canvass Riverdale neighborhoods Tuesday night in attempt to identify a man who was found dead Sunday.

RIVERDALE, MD — Detectives are planning to canvass Riverdale neighborhoods Tuesday night in attempt to identify a man who was found dead Sunday. Investigators are asking for the community's help in identifying the man so his family can be notified.

Detectives will conduct the canvass, starting at 7 p.m. in the 6200 block of 60th Ave., in the hopes of gathering additional information.

At about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, patrol officers responded to the 6200 block of 60th Ave. for a welfare check. The officers discovered the victim in the roadway and he was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital, police said.

An autopsy revealed the man died from multiple injuries and the manner of death was ruled a homicide, police told Patch.

Police released a composite sketch of the victim (see above) Tuesday. Police describe the victim as a Hispanic man approximately 35-40 years old. He does not have any distinguishing marks or tattoos on his body. His name will be released once he’s been identified and after his family is notified, police said.

Detectives are also working to identify the suspects and the motive in the case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
