Abused Puppy Found In Columbia Gets Adopted: Police
More than a month after a puppy was found in a plastic container in Columbia, he is going to a new home, officials say. Animal Handler Taylor Hawkins said she took the puppy, who officials named "Eddy," home with her overnight to ensure he could get medication and care while not at the Howard County animal shelter. Initially, he was extremely lethargic. "He didn't really get up a lot like a normal puppy would," she said. "As the weeks went on, he got much better," Hawkins said. "He would wake up in the middle of the night and be like, 'Come play with me! Wake up!'"
