2021 Hometown Holidays Music Fest, Memorial Day Parade Canceled

Due to COVID-19, the City of Rockville has canceled its in-person Memorial Day festivities. A virtual ceremony will be held instead.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Rockville's Hometown Holidays Music Festival and Memorial Day parade have been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The city will hold a virtual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 31 instead. A video of the event will be posted at 9:30 a.m. on the city's official website, Facebook, YouTube, and Rockville Cable channel 11.

  • Music by the Rockville Concert Band
  • An address by Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton
  • A traditional wreath-laying led by American Legion Post 86
  • Presentation of colors by Rockville City Police Department Honor Guard
  • An address by the guest speaker Eric N. Bernard, Hospital Corpsman Second Class, U.S. Navy (Ret.).
