91 New COVID-19 Cases, Zero New Deaths Reported In Montgomery Co.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County registered 91 new coronavirus infections overnight, data released by the Maryland Department of Health showed.

For Maryland's most populous jurisdiction, Monday's addition pushes the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 67,303.

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The local death toll remains at 1,435.

The latest fatality count does not include the 46 others whose deaths were linked to the virus but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."

Montgomery County — which is home to roughly 1 million people — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second-highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 78,948, according to the latest figures.

Across Maryland, there have been 418,188 cases, 8,177 confirmed deaths, and 186 "probable deaths." Of the 1,165 people currently being hospitalized statewide, 260 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As of Monday, Maryland has administered 2,993,827 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those, 1,870,570 were first doses and 1,030,116 were second doses.

In Montgomery County, 371,380 residents (35.3 percent) have received their first dose. A total of 207,390 residents (19.7 percent) have already gotten their second and final shot.
