ROCKVILLE, MD — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at Montgomery County's adoption center. The facility houses dozens of cats, dogs, and other adorable critters. And all of them need a furever home.
Here, we've rounded up a list of five adoptable pets for a series called "Patch's Adoptable Pets of the Week." This week, we're featuring Charlie Brown, Mimi, Dymo, Lia, and Ghosi.

Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: Why adopt a turtle? Not only do they make super fun pets, but they are social-distancing pros since they don't require another turtle for company and are happy to just hang out on their own (though we won't complain if you adopt more than one!)
Additionally, a healthy turtle has a longer life expectancy than a dog, cat, or bunny. So if you're looking for a buddy for many, many years to come, a turtle may be the pet for you!
Have we convinced you that you need a turtle yet!? If so, please apply to foster or adopt one of our shelled cuties!
