Art Tour Takes Viewers Through Maryland Countryside

Art will be displayed at 15 galleries across Montgomery, Frederick and Howard Counties during the free, self-guided October in tour.

Peruse original art in the rolling Maryland countryside in mid October during the Countryside Artisans' Fall Gallery & Studio Tour, a self-guided tour of artists' studios and galleries in Montgomery, Frederick and Howard Counties.

The tour runs Oct. 12 - 14 and features 15 destinations nestled across rural Maryland. More than 50 visual, sculptural, textile and beverage artists will set up shop in galleries located on working farms, in barns and in historic buildings.

The artists on this tour have works in private collections across the country and have shown in many celebrated galleries, museums and exhibitions.

Worry not if you can't make it on the driving tour — work from all the Countryside Artisans in one place in the exhibit “Home Before Sunset -- Celebration of a Rural Community” at Sandy Spring Museum from Sept. 27 - Nov. 18.

The Countryside Artisans of Maryland represents a selected group of accomplished visual, sculptural, textile and beverage artists working in oil, pastel, watercolor, pencil, ceramics, porcelain, glass, stone, yarn, textiles, photography, silver, enamel, hops, grapes and tea. The Countryside Artisans jointly open their galleries and studios located in historic, rural Montgomery, Howard, and Frederick Counties in Maryland for three art tours each year in April, October, and December.
