Aspen Hill Credit Card Thief Caught On Camera: Police

The Montgomery County police are asking the public for tips to identify the man who stole a wallet in an Aspen Hill grocery store.

ASPEN HILL, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department released a surveillance photo Tuesday of an unidentified man wanted for using a credit card that he stole out of a shopping cart last month at an Aspen Hill grocery store. The police are asking the public for help in identifying the man, who bought merchandise with the card.

The theft occurred on Sept. 21 at the Giant Food at 3860 International Drive, in the Leisureworld Plaza shopping center on Georgia Avenue (Route 97). The victim was shopping in the store when her wallet, which contained her credit cards, was stolen from her cart, the police said in a statement.

One of the woman’s credit cards was fraudulently used to buy items at the Target store at 5700 Bou Ave., in the Montrose Crossing shopping center in Rockville. The police did not release a physical description of the suspect, or say what he bought at the Target (see image below).
