Bike to Work Day 2016: Rockville, Montgomery County Pit Stops
Rockville and Frederick are battling for bragging rights for Bike to Work Day 2016 on May 20. Use our link to vote for Rockville.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Commuters are expected to trade their cars for bikes on Friday, May 20, to take part in Bike to Work Day 2016.
Rockville and Frederick are facing off in a friendly competition to promote bicycling. Both cities created videos to encourage people to use bicycles in their communities to get to work, school, and play. Take a few minutes to watch each short video and vote for the one you like best. The winning city gets bragging rights.
Only one vote per person please. Voting will end at 8 p.m. on May 19, and the winner will be announced in the morning of May 20th at Bike to Work Day.

Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association will join to celebrate bicycling as a clean, fun, and healthy way to get to work. Attend one of 83 pit stops in the Washington, D.C., area to receive refreshments, and be entered into a raffle for bicycles being given away.

Fatal bicycle-involved crashes increased in Maryland from 6 in 2014 to 11 in 2015, says the Maryland State Highway Administration.
Bicycle safety education efforts remind both bicyclists and drivers to share the road and look out for each other.
Bike to Work Day registration continues through the end of the day Thursday, May 19; register for Bike to Work Day events around the region at Bike to Work Metro DC.
Rockville Pit Stops on May 20
From 6:30 to 9 a.m. Friday stop by one of Rockville's two pit stops for a light breakfast, some coffee, a free T-shirt, and to enter into a raffle for various prizes including a new bicycle. The City sponsors two pit stops in Rockville Town Square and Fallsgrove. Register online at www.biketoworkmetrodc.org.

Luckily, the weather looks like it will cooperate. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies Friday and a high of 72 degrees. And for once, no rain chances.
