Bitcoin Blackmail Scam Circulating In Montgomery County
The letters demand a payment in bitcoins, or else a "secret" will be revealed to that resident's wife, police said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department is warning residents of a "bitcoin blackmail scam" occurring in the county.
The Department has received reports of scammers sending an email or mailing a letter to county residents. The letters demand a payment in bitcoins, or else a “secret” will be revealed to that resident’s wife, police said.
