Customers Of Closed Dry Cleaner Can Retrieve Property
Patrons who dropped off their clothes at a Rockville dry cleaner can reclaim items, the county says; the owners were evicted from the site.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Customers who dropped off clothing at Courtesy Custom Cleaners, 180 Rollins Ave. in Rockville, may be able to reclaim their items even though the store has closed and the owners have been evicted from the site, according to Montgomery County officials.
Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection said in a news release Wednesday that it has arranged with the landlord to allow the agency's staff access to the Courtesy Custom Cleaners building to retrieve customers’ items. Customers must file a complaint with the consumer protection office and provide a copy of their receipt (if available) and any identifying features of the clothing left behind. Complaints can be submitted online at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/OCP/consumer/filing_complaints.html.
The receipts may say that the business was located at 180 Rolling Road, rather than the correct address, officials say.

OCP and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office established an award winning “Business Eviction Response Team (BERT)” to help protect consumers from losing their possessions from certain stores when a court orders an eviction.
“Our dedicated staff go the extra mile in an effort to help consumers,” said OCP Director Eric Friedman. “We greatly appreciate the cooperation of the landlord, Capital Management & Development, in helping our staff find creative solutions to fulfill our mission of ensuring integrity in our marketplace.”
