COVID-19 In Montgomery County: 116 New Cases, Zero Deaths Added
Montgomery County added 116 new coronavirus cases overnight, according to public health data. The local death toll remains at 1,447.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County registered 116 new coronavirus infections overnight, data released by the Maryland Department of Health showed.
For Maryland's most populous jurisdiction, Tuesday's addition pushes the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 68,260.
No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The local death toll remains at 1,447.

The latest fatality count does not include the 46 others whose deaths were linked to the virus but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."
Montgomery County — which is home to roughly 1 million people — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second-highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 80,370, according to the latest figures.

Across Maryland, there have been 428,799 cases, 8,298 confirmed deaths, and 186 "probable deaths." Of the 1,243 people currently being hospitalized statewide, 275 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As of Tuesday, Maryland has administered 3,531,018 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those, 2,105,757 were first doses and 1,251,727 were second doses.
In Montgomery County, 439,819 residents (41.8 percent) have received their first dose. A total of 261,836 residents (24.9 percent) have already gotten their second and final shot.
