Driver Jumps Off Bridge After 3-Car Crash On I-495
A man jumped off the Clara Barton Parkway bridge to get out of the way of a second crash, Maryland State Police said.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a three-car crash that injured multiple people on the Capital Beltway in Rockville Sunday.
The crash occurred right before 6 a.m. on the outer loop at Clara Barton Parkway.
Police said Toray Lamond Guider, 43, of Walkersville, was driving a 2015 Honda Sedan when he was involved in a single-car crash. Guider's car struck the guardrail and overturned, before it came to rest on its roof in lanes one and two of the beltway, police said.

Moments after the crash, police believe an off-duty fire and rescue personnel — identified as William Schnaekel, 45, of Pennsylvania — drove his Honda in front of Guider’s overturned vehicle to offer assistance.
Police think Fatemeh Beshkari,46, of Gaithersburg, then crashed into the overturned car and struck the rear of Schnaekel's car.

Investigators believe Guider jumped over a bridge to get out of the way of the second crash, a police statement said.
"EMS personnel and troopers on the scene located Guider over the right side of the American Legion Bridge, about fifty feet below in a grassy area. Guider was rescued from below the bridge and transported to Inova Trauma Center for medical treatment," a police statement said.
Beshkari was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital and Schnaekel was brought to Suburban Hospital for treatment, police said.
The investigation is active and ongoing, police said.
