Fire Damages Glen Echo Children's Theater
No injuries reported; upcoming performances at Adventure Theatre may be canceled.

BETHESDA, MD — An early morning fire on Friday damaged a children's theater at Glen Echo Park, but there were no injuries reported, say Montgomery County officials. The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. and caused more than $25,000 in damage, Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said via Twitter.
The cause of the fire was electrical and started in a wall space in the wardrobe storage area, according to Piringer. When firefighters with the Glen Echo Fire Department arrived at the theater, at 7300 Macarthur Blvd., they spotted smoke coming from the roof.
Other Montgomery County firefighters responded and quickly doused the blaze. The fire seriously damaged the theater's offices, but the stage area was not affected, the Adventure Theatre announced.
