First Date Is Nightmare Of Rape, Drugs, Human Trafficking: Report

A Gaithersburg man is facing a long prison sentence for drugging and raping a woman he met on a dating app, says media report.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Gaithersburg man is facing up to 55 years in prison on charges that he raped and terrorized a woman he met through a dating app, according to a media report. Kyle Hilliard, 30, is being held without bond in a Montgomery County jail on charges of second-degree rape, human trafficking, second-degree assault and false imprisonment, WJLA-TV ABC7 reported.

In court documents, the Montgomery County police allege that Hilliard and the victim, an unidentified 24-year-old woman, met Aug. 1 via SKOUT, an app that pairs strangers based on their phones' GPS coordinates, ABC7 reported.

Using the Lyft app, the woman took a ride to Hilliard's home in Gaithersburg. During her visit, he told her that he had just gotten out of jail and made money by selling drugs, according to investigators.

This frightened the woman, and as she tried to leave, Hilliard grabbed her by the neck and said he "owned" her and would use her to "make some money," ABC7 reported.

Hilliard then drugged the woman and used apps on her cellphone in an attempt to sell her for sex, the police allege. The woman escaped after Hilliard forced her to accompany him on a Lyft ride into the District to deliver drugs to customers, according to ABC7.
