The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for the region, effective midnight to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12.
Temperatures are expected to dip as low as 33 degrees, according to forecasters, which may damage plants, crops, and outdoor plumbing.

The Frost Advisory applies to parts of Allegany, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, and Washington counties.
People should cover plants and other sensitive vegetation to help protect them from the freezing conditions.

Those with in-ground sprinkler systems are encouraged to drain them and cover above-ground pipes to keep them from freezing, according to forecasters.
Here's the forecast for Montgomery County through Tuesday:
Today: Isolated showers before 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 58. West wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight: Areas of frost after 3am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Northwest wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
Tuesday: Areas of frost before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 59. West wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light northwest after midnight.
