Firefighters responded to an early morning kitchen fire at Fresh Baguette bakery in Rockville Wednesday morning.
ROCKVILLE, MD – Firefighters responded to an early morning kitchen fire at Fresh Baguette bakery in Rockville Wednesday morning, as traffic was blocked in the area to allow emergency vehicles to access the site.
Crews responded to 804 Hungerford Drive on Route 355 around 6:30 a.m., according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer, who posted a series of updates on Twitter. Route 355 was blocked off to traffic between Manakee Street and North Washington Street.
The building was evacuated and firefighters located a large commercial oven, which appeared to be the source of the fire, according to Piringer. The fire caused significant damage to the kitchen area and the health inspector has been notified.
