A Lot More Rain Is Coming To Montgomery County: Forecast

Every single day this week has a strong chance for rain, so kiss the sun goodbye for a little while.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Remember when we had more than two weeks of no rain in Montgomery County, resulting in a so-called "flash drought"? Those days are long gone, as rainstorm after rainstorm pounded our region -- and it looks like this week is doing to be no different.

The National Weather Service and the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang predict a strong chance of showers every single day this week.

It all starts Monday with some scattered showers followed by a possible thunderstorm in the afternoon. Showers will continue in the night, and as we roll around to Tuesday those showers just keep coming, with a thunderstorm possible in the afternoon once again.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms actually increases on Wednesday compared to the day before. Thursday? Pretty much the same forecast. Friday? Yep.

What about the weekend? Stop us if you've heard this before: a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

On the plus side, at least it won't be blazing hot this week. Highs should be in the mid to high 80s for the most part, declining into the 70s by the evening.

So say goodbye to Mr. Sun. You won't be seeing him for a while.
