Man Struck And Killed By Car In Rockville Pedestrian Crash

A 34-year-old man was struck and killed while walking in Rockville Thursday afternoon, police said.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A man was struck and killed while walking in Rockville Thursday afternoon, a statement from the Montgomery County Police Department said.

The incident occurred at about 4:01 p.m. at the intersection of Norbeck Road (Route 28) at East Gude Drive.

Police said the unidentified 34-year-old man was crossing the eastbound lanes of Norbeck Road when he was struck by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep was traveling eastbound on Norbeck Road approaching East Gude Drive, police said.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. He will be identified once family has been notified, police said.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
