ROCKVILLE, MD — On Monday, Jan. 18, America will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Here's how it shakes out for Rockville residents.

  • County offices – Closed.
  • Libraries - Closed.
  • Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) - Stores open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Recreation – Aquatics programs and facilities open; all other classes and programs canceled. Administrative offices, senior centers, and community centers are closed.
  • Montgomery Parks – Visit www.MontgomeryParks.org.
  • Ride On –Modified holiday schedule. Route information available at https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Transit/SpecialHoliday.html.
  • Ride On Flex – No service on holidays.
  • Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com and here.
  • TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Open.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed.
  • County-provided refuse/recycling pickup - County-provided trash and recycling collection will not be collected Monday, Jan. 20. After the holiday, county-provided recycling and trash collections will slide one day, with the last collection on Saturday, Jan.25.
  • Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station - Facility closed.
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters - Free.
  • State offices and courts – Closed.
