Montgomery Co. Records 104 New COVID-19 Cases, 6 Deaths Tuesday

The latest additions push Montgomery County's cumulative COVID-19 totals to 63,499 cases and 1,373​ deaths.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County recorded 104 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing its cumulative total to 63,499 since the pandemic began.

The county added six new COVID-19-related deaths overnight. The local death toll sits at 1,373.

The latest fatality count does not include the 45 others whose deaths were linked to the virus but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."

Montgomery County — which is home to roughly 1 million residents — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second-highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 73,509, according to the latest figures.

Across Maryland, there have been 383,170 cases, 7,723 confirmed deaths, and 182 "probable deaths." Of the 896 people currently being hospitalized statewide, 232 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As of Tuesday, Maryland has administered 1,362,758 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those, 898,235 were first doses and 678,195 were second doses.

In Montgomery County, 156,782 residents (14.9 percent) have received their first dose. A total of 77,890 residents (7.4 percent) have already gotten their second and final shot.
