Firefighter Recruits Visit Takoma Park Homes, Check Fire Alarms
Recruits from the Montgomery County Firefighter class RC41 stopped by Takoma Park homes Friday to check their smoke alarms.
TAKOMA PARK, MD -- Firefighter recruits from RC41 participated in an outreach event Friday, making house calls to test and update fire alarms for residents in Takoma Park. The event had the purpose of familiarizing the recruits with the communities and citizens they will be serving and to ensure than some residents had effective fire alarms.
Fourteen recruits participated, taking care of eight homes in the area.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Twitter posted "Statewide fire deaths now at 33. Please check your smoke alarms today to save you and your family tonight."
