Montgomery County Releases COVID-19 Vaccine Update
Here's a detailed breakdown of the steps residents can take toward getting vaccinated, according to Montgomery County officials.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County on Friday released a detailed breakdown of the steps residents can take toward getting vaccinated.
It can be found below:
- The county's Department of Health and Human Services receives an average of 6,000 doses per week from the state, which gets its vaccine supply from the U.S. government
- County-run clinics have started vaccinating residents who are 75 years and older (Priortiy Group 1B)
- Gov. Larry Hogan has given all 24 jurisdictions in the state discretion in deciding when to move forward in their vaccination plan
- But Montgomery County says it cannot keep up with the state's pace

- Everyone must preregister for an appointment
- The county is currently preregistering all groups in Phase 1A, 1B, and 1C
- Check the county's vaccine webpage for preregistration information
Preregistration information:
- Preregistration is not a vaccination appointment
- The county says it puts you in line by priority group
- You will be able to make an appointment once the vaccine is available; the county will contact you
- Email invitations will come from c19vaccination@montgomerycountymd.gov

"In addition to the clinics operated by DHHS, hospitals and several community partners have COVID-19 vaccines available to the public," county officials said in a statement. "These clinics follow the state guidelines, and not the rules issued by the county. Therefore, they may be vaccinating priority groups that the county-operated clinics are not. Vaccine supply continues to be limited at all venues in Montgomery County."

- MedStar Health
- Suburban Hospital, a subsidiary of Johns Hopkins (Suburban Hospital is prioritizing existing patients in the Hopkins system).

- Staff are available to callers in English and Spanish
- The helpline is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
