Police Arrest Rockville Man Wanted In Tuesday Night Rape

The 25-year-old man is being held without bond related to a sexual assault in the woods near an office building on West Gude Drive.

UPDATE — Detectives with the Montgomery County police on Wednesday arrested a Rockville man on charges that he raped a woman Tuesday night in a wooded area off Route 355 (Frederick Road). Dustin Thomas Rogers, 25, has been charged with first-degree rape and first-degree assault, police said in a statement.

Rogers is being held in jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in the Rockville District Court at 1 p.m. Thursday for a bond review hearing. He also was charged with first-degree assault "via a warrant stemming from an unrelated event," the police said.

The detectives arrested Rogers at about 6 p.m. Wednesday outside his residence on Gaither Road, in the King Farm community in Rockville.

They determined that Rogers was a suspect after investigating the scene of the rape, in the woods near an office building at 15 West Gude Drive, the police said.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Police officers and detectives are searching for a man who raped a woman shortly before midnight Tuesday in a wooded area in Rockville, according to the Montgomery County Police Department. The unidentified man was still at large Wednesday afternoon, and the police asked the public for tips to locate him.

He is described as white with short hair, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 155 pounds. The police are urging anyone with information to contact the department's Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-774-5400.

At about 12:11 a.m. Wednesday, police officers from the county and Rockville, as well as county Fire and Rescue personnel, responded to the report of a rape that had just occurred in the woods next to an office complex at 15 West Gude Drive.

The victim told the officers that she was walking on the sidewalk of Route 355 (Frederick Road) approaching West Gude Drive when a man physically assaulted her, forced her from the roadway to a wooded area, and sexually assaulted her, the police said.

During the assault, the woman broke free, ran to a nearby office building and summoned a security guard for help. The police then responded to the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, and remained in the hospital as of Wednesday afternoon, the police said.
