Dumb Criminal Alert: Watch Fake Beard Fall Off Mid Robbery

The suspect reportedly handed a teller a note threatening to detonate an explosive device if he was not given cash, says Montgomery Police.

ROCKVILLE, VA — The suspect in a recent bank robbery is a little more identifiable, thanks to a wardrobe malfunction at the teller window.

Montgomery County Police has released video of the June 2 robbery at a Rockville bank, showing the suspect trying desperately to keep his beard on as he demands cash.

On June 2 just before noon, officers responded to the SunTrust Bank located at 14939 Shady Grove Road for a report of a bank robbery.

The suspect reportedly entered the bank, approached a teller, and passed a note that threatened the teller, according to police.

A note also implied that he had an explosive device and would detonate it if he did not receive any money.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Aside from a pretty good look at his face, security photos and video show the suspect has a tattoo on his right forearm.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or the robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department's Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
