REDI Announces New Leadership for Fiscal Year 2021

New MWBC Managing Director and REDI Board Chair Begin on July 1.

ROCKVILLE, MD. – June 29, 2020— Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC), a program of Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI), is proud to announce the hiring of Morgan Wortham as its new Managing Director effective July 1. Wortham’s role supports MWBC’s mission to help entrepreneurs launch and grow successful women-owned enterprises.

Wortham joins MWBC with 20 years of experience in economic and workforce development projects and urban planning. Prior to enrolling in the University of Maryland’s Doctorate of Urban & Regional Planning and Design and working on a variety of area urban planning projects as a graduate research assistant, Wortham was the President/CEO of Envision Community Solutions in Iowa, where she managed multiple projects in economic and workforce development as well as consulted in nonprofit management, urban planning, affordable housing development and financial education. Prior to that she was the Founder and Executive Director of New Waterloo Community Development Corporation in Waterloo, Iowa. She holds an MBA from the University of Northern Iowa and an MPA from Drake University.

Wortham will lead MWBC’s team of experienced counselors and trainers, who provide essential services to women entrepreneurs and empower them to launch and grow their businesses in Maryland’s Capital Region.

In addition to hiring a new Managing Director for MWBC, Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) is ushering in a new slate of executive business leaders to serve as officers on its Board of Directors. REDI is pleased to announce that Susan Prince, Lead Health Cyber Operations at The MITRE Corporation at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, will be stepping up as the new Chair of REDI. Prince is preceded by outgoing Chair Paul Newman, who served on the REDI Board for 32 years. REDI is also welcoming new Vice Chairs Jennifer Hester and Nancy Regelin, and Scot Browning as Secretary/Treasurer.
