Rita's Italian Ice Opens New Location In Montgomery County

From Rita's Italian Ice: On July 15, Rita’s Italian Ice — the world’s largest Italian Ice concept with more than 600 stores — will celebrate the grand opening of a new location in the Montgomery County area. Rita’s of Derwood, located across from the Muncaster Mill Shopping Center at 7211 Muncaster Mill Road, will welcome guests with a special, buy one, get one free offer all day on July 15 to celebrate its grand opening. Additionally, an opening day raffle will be held and 25 winners will be randomly selected to receive free Italian Ice for a year. The new walk-up store is the first for franchisees Rachel and Shank Sagar.

“My husband introduced me to Rita’s and, after just one taste, I immediately fell in love with their ‘cool treats’,” said Rachel Sagar. “Our neighborhood Rita’s always brought smiles to those in our community and we’re looking forward to bringing the same smiles and delicious treats to our friends and neighbors in Derwood.”

Rita’s of Derwood has brought nearly 20 new job opportunities to the area and will look to be an active part of the local Derwood community. Rachel and Shank, who already have plans to partner with a local middle school and high school, place getting to know each patron individually as one of their top priorities. Additionally, the location will kick off their philanthropic efforts by welcoming monetary donations on opening day for their selected charitable partner.
